I have 30 years experience in horticulture and teaching. I hold B.Hort (Lincoln Uni); Dip. Hort. (Lincoln Uni); Certificate in Organic Hort. (L4); Dip Teaching.
I tutored at Lincoln University in horticultural management and botany before taking up a full time position at CPIT ( now ARA). During this time I was involved in developing and teaching horticulture to students and industry personnel in crop production – specializing in hydroponics & plant protection. Since 2008 I have been teaching in the organic programme at the BHU Organic Training College. My teaching areas include Pest & Disease Management; Soils & Soil Management ; Fruit pruning & grafting; Planting for Birds & Insects; Companion Planting, along with many community garden workshops.
I really enjoy my time with the BHUs many enthusiastic and motivated students. When not working, I’m either tending our organic home garden, stand up paddle boarding, tramping or enjoying our grandchildren.
