Organic Distance Programme: Qualifications

Graduates from the Certificate in Organic Horticulture Level 3 will have key knowledge and skills for successful organic growing. They will acquire knowledge of the key organic principles, the history of organics, including the key people and organisations involved, training providers and career opportunities; the principles and practices of composting; and soil principles and management. Students choose from the following range of electives; design and management of shelter belts; permaculture principles and design; plant structure and function; plan plantings for birds and insects.

They will also develop skills and knowledge for use in employment within the organic horticulture industry or for use in their own gardens or small holdings.
